Signal at busy intersection will work for Tuesday commute
PRAIRIEVILLE - Just before 10pm Monday, state traffic control mechanics were able to get a traffic signal working again.
The outage was a headache for drivers who use Airline Highway, and the state had warned their headaches could last for a while after the outage. But, after hours of work, the lights became functional again.
Earlier, the driver of a pick up hit utility poles at the intersection of Airline Highway and Highway 42. The crash knocked out electricity and fried the stop lights. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported the wreck at that location happened between 7 and 8 a.m.
For the evening commute, the intersection became a four-way stop.
Pending no further outage, the light structure should be functioning Tuesday morning.
