Shreveport man arrested for exploitation of his mother
SHREVEPORT, La. - Caddo Parish authorities say a Shreveport man has been arrested for exploitation of the infirmed for allegedly stealing from his 86-year-old mother.
Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator says in a news release that 64-year-old Paul Brown was arrested Wednesday on a warrant.
Prator says Brown allegedly used his mother's power of attorney to misappropriate gold coins, valued at more than $300,000. Prator says Brown allegedly sold the gold for cash from 2011 through 2014 and spent the money on vacations, jewelry, home remolding, and other family gifts.
The sheriff says the money was not used to benefit Brown's mother.
