Sewer work returns to Burbank, lane closures planned
BATON ROUGE- Sewer line construction crews will once again return to Burbank Drive for extra work and close more lanes of the southeast Baton Rouge highway.
Beginning Tuesday, August 5, there will be intermittent lane closures from Staring Extension to Lee Drive. Expect closures through Friday, August 15th. The work will take place during the weekend of August 9th and 10th, too.
Engineers said workers will be doing erosion control and new tie-ins into the existing pipe system that was put down previously.
The city's sewer system is undergoing a more than $1 billion repair. It is overdue, and has been delayed by two years.
This closure and work is independent of work happening near the Old Front Nine, also on Burbank, the weekend of August 2nd and 3rd. Click HERE to read more about that.
