BATON ROUGE – Sen. Bodi White, R-Central, is back home recovering after spending nearly two weeks in the hospital with covid symptoms.

White was brought to Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans by ambulance on Aug. 2. Lionel Rainey, the senator's spokesman, said White started having symptoms shortly after spinal surgery.

Rainey released the following statement Monday afternoon.

"Senator White has been discharged from Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans after experiencing Covid-19 related symptoms immediately following spinal surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery."
