Second body found in woods, victim shot, wrapped in plastic
MANSFIELD, La. (AP) - A Louisiana sheriff says a man found dead was shot and his body wrapped in plastic.
DeSoto Parish Sheriff Jayson Richardson says a preliminary identification has been made, but fingerprints are being processed to confirm it.
KTBS-TV reports the coroner determined the body, found Tuesday, had been in the Dolet Hills area for three to four days. Richardson says he had been shot multiple times.
The case is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 318-872-3956
It was the second body found in the area in less than a week.
Oilfield workers Saturday found the burned body of 25-year-old Tony Holmes, of Shreveport next to a road leading to a gas well in Frierson. Holmes' family reported him missing Feb. 21.
