SE Louisiana names Jake Narro coach of golf program

HAMMOND- Southeastern Louisiana University has named long-time PGA golf professional Jake Narro as its new head golf coach.
Director of Athletics Jay Artigues on Wednesday announced the hiring which is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. He is to officially start Aug. 31.
Narro takes over for long-time coach Tim Baldwin, who accepted the same position at Louisiana-Monroe last month. He takes over a program that has advanced to the NCAA Regionals in five of the last six seasons.
Narro most recently served as the golf pro at the Country Club of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.
The team opens the 2015-16 season on Sept. 14-15 at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
