Saints sign LB Anthony Spencer to 1-year deal
NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Saints signed LB Anthony Spencer to a one-year contract Friday.
Spencer is an 8-year veteran who spent his entire career in Dallas. Drafted in the first round in 2007, Spencer served as a linebacker and defensive back for the Cowboys, where he posted 497 tackles and 33 sacks in 104 games played.
Spencer, coming off a knee injury that held him out the majority of 2013, recorded 25 tackles, 0.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 2014 in his return. His best season was in 2012, when he was selected to the pro bowl after recording a career high 106 tackles and 11 sacks.
