MIAMI - Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio has released two additional years of charge card statements in response to questions about his personal spending as a state lawmaker in Florida.
The American Express card statements were released by the campaign Saturday and cover expenses in 2005 and 2006. During that time Rubio shared the charge card with the Republican Party of Florida.
The statements show Rubio spent almost $65,000, including about $7,200 for eight personal purchases. His campaign says he paid American Express directly for the personal expenses.
In all, Rubio carried the card for nearly four years. His campaign says he spent about $182,000 in all, including more than $22,000 in personal charges.
The campaign had previously made public the charge card statements from late 2006 to late 2008.
