Report: Louisiana is home to the world's last Popeyes buffet
LAFAYETTE - The Popeyes buffet is more than just a myth, and according to a report from Southern Living, the last one in the entire world resides in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Open from 10 to 8 o'clock every day, the Popeyes on West Pinhook Road has everything you'd expect from the fried chicken merchants. But the key difference is how all of the restaurant's famous entrees and sides are served.

For only $9.70, customers can take all they want from counters loaded with spicy and mild chicken, mashed potatoes, red beans, fries, and (of course) buttermilk biscuits. The real kicker is that this comes cheaper than some of the chain's actual combo meals.
Southern Living says Popeyes used to have several buffets where diners could have this same all-you-can-eat experience for just a few dollars. However, the locations in Huntsville, Al., and Panama City, Fla., have closed, leaving Louisiana as the one true home of the Popeyes buffet.

After catching wind of the Lafayette restaurant, some fans have started an online petition to bring a Popeyes buffet to Las Vegas. But if there's only one, it seems appropriate that it exists in the franchise's home state.
