NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A federal appeals court has refused to reconsider its decision allowing Louisiana to enforce an age limit of 21 for erotic dancers in bars and nightclubs.

In November, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected arguments that enforcement should be blocked because the state law was too vague about how much of a dancer's breasts and buttocks must be covered.

In a ruling dated Jan. 3, the court rejected a rehearing request by lawyers for three women who challenged the law. The women were 18, 19 and 20 when the suit was filed. They said the 2016 law had cost them the lucrative income they had as strip club dancers and unconstitutionally squelched their First Amendment rights to freedom of expression.
