Power outage impacts southern area of Ascension Parish
ASCENSION PARISH - According to Entergy, about 91 south Ascension Parish customers have been left in the dark due to a power outage that should be restored by Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Earlier this week, the energy company's website said the delay in power restoration was a result of difficulties in accessing the area, which could only be reached by boat.
Entergy says a storm team of more than 1,000 is continuing to perform damage assessment, restore power and coordinate with local and state agencies.
By 10 a.m., Monday, crews had restored power to around 83,000 of the 92,000 customers affected at the storm's peak early Saturday morning. The storm downed trees, power lines and damaged about 260 poles.
