Police: Drug deal leads to shooting, 1 dead
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge police say a man was shot and killed after a drug deal led to an altercation.
The shooting happened on North 37th Street near Cain street Saturday morning.
Neighbors say Trevor Washington, 23, was staying at his girlfriend's house when they left to get food. That's when a car came by and shot him several times. Witnesses nearby say they heard five shots.
Washington later died at the hospital.
Police say the shooter was Demond Sanders, 26. Investigators say Sanders and Washington got into an altercation because of a prior drug deal.
Sanders was arrested and booked on charges of second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
