Police: boyfriend arrested in Atlanta after La. parking lot stabbing
HAMMOND - A stabbing at a gas station turned into a multi-state investigation where the suspect was arrested in Atlanta.
Police said a woman was stabbed in the parking lot of the Shell Travel Center on Highway 190 Monday evening. Details of the incident were released Wednesday, with word of the arrest.
Investigators said the woman's boyfriend, Israel Thomas Reddick III , 34, stabbed her as her four kids sat in their vehicle. Reddick is from Ohio. He was able to get away before police arrived.
Reddick was arrested after a traffic stop in Georgia.
Police said the victim was also from Ohio but was living in Tickfaw with family. She is in stable condition at an area hospital.
Reddick is in the Atlanta jail and awaiting extradition back to Hammond where he will face attempted murder charges.
