Pedestrian hit by car, killed in Ascension parish
GONZALES - State Police say a pedestrian was killed in Ascension Parish Monday when he walked into the path of a moving car Monday afternoon.
According to troopers, Brad Nickens, 34, was walking across LA-934 near LA-44 when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old driver.
Nickens was transported to the hospital where he died. Investigators don't believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but took a toxicology sample from Nickens and the driver of the other car.
