ALBANY, NY - An upstate New York man has been convicted of plotting to kill Muslims with a mobile X-ray device by a jury who rejected his lawyer's argument that he was entrapped by the FBI.

Industrial mechanic Glendon Scott Crawford was found guilty Friday of attempting to produce a deadly radiological device, conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction and distributing information about weapons of mass destruction.

He could face 25 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for Dec. 15.

Prosecutor Richard Belliss says the 49-year-old Crawford sought support for the device from a Ku Klux Klan grand wizard, who was an FBI informant.

Defense attorney Kevin Luibrand argued federal agents provided the device. He says his client was a Navy veteran and family man with no criminal history.
