UNDATED - There are some very appealing matchups in college football bowl games today. Perhaps none is more attractive than the Fiesta Bowl, which has Ohio State squaring off with Notre Dame. The 11-1 Buckeyes are defending national champs who were ranked No. 1 in the AP poll for most of the season before losing to Michigan State. In the final CFP rankings Ohio State was No. 7. The 10-2 Irish were considered a legitimate threat for the national title this year but a two-point loss to eventual AP No. 1 Clemson hurt their chances. Their other loss came to Rose Bowl contestant Stanford. Notre Dame was eighth in the final CFP rankings.

Stanford, ranked No. 5 by the AP, faces AP No. 6 Iowa in Pasadena, California. For Stanford, an appearance in the "Granddaddy of all Bowl Games" is nothing new. This is the Cardinal's third visit in four years. Record-wise Iowa is 12-1 and Stanford is 11-2.

The first bowl game of the day is in Tampa, Florida, as Tennessee faces Northwestern in the Outback Bowl, with the Citrus Bowl and Sugar Bowl following.

The opponents in the Citrus Bowl are Michigan and Florida, while in the final game of the day, this evening's Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Oklahoma State is going up against Mississippi.
