New Orleans police: Suspect shot by officer dies
NEW ORLEANS - Police in New Orleans said Saturday that one of their officers shot and killed a suspect who was ramming his car into other cars and homes.
Police reported the shooting around 9:30 a.m. Saturday and announced a half-hour later that the suspect had died at the scene.
The shooting happened in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward neighborhood. No other injuries were reported.
Police spokesman Tyler Gamble said it was not yet clear whether the man who died was armed. His identity was not released. The name of the officer has also not been released.
