New book to highlight New Orleans role ahead of 300th

NEW ORLEANS - A new book timed to the 300th anniversary of the founding of New Orleans is set to be published next year.
The New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities have announced they are producing a book about the city's influence in the world.
The book, titled New Orleans & The World: The Tricentennial Anthology, is set to be published in the fall of 2017.
It aims to highlight the role of the city in major events in American and world history as well as the various ways in which culture and economic innovation in the Crescent City have impacted people outside the city.
The city is gearing up for its 300th anniversary in 2018.
