Natural causes suspected in woman's death near Whiskey Bay
WHISKEY BAY - The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 65-year-old woman's body was found in a car underneath the Whiskey Bay Bridge, but Sheriff Brett Stassi says foul play isn't suspected. It is believed that the woman died of natural cuases.
Sheriff Stassi told News 2 a passing driver spotted a car running with its lights on underneath the bridge Tuesday afternoon. That driver contacted the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.
According to sources, the woman was not feeling well earlier in the day and pulled off I-10. An autopsy will be performed in New Orleans.
The woman has not been identified at the time of this post.
