Murder-suicide cause of death in deadly Eunice fire
EUNICE - State fire marshals say the cause of death in a deadly house fire in Eunice that left a woman and her two children dead is murder-suicide.
In a press conference Monday afternoon, Eunice Police said the mother, 39-year-old Carla Wotford, is believed to have shot her two daughters at their home at the intersection of W. Maple Avenue and S. 4th Street.
Eunice Police said the fire broke out around midnight Sunday. Firefighters knocked down the fire to find the bodies of the woman and two children, ages 16 and 8.
Eunice Police and the Louisiana State Fire Marshals continue to investigate in order to determine the cause of the fire.
