More than 1,000 without power in EBR Parish
BATON ROUGE - Thunderstorms accompanied by numerous lightning strikes caused power outages in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon.
By 1:30 p.m., Entergy's outage map was showing more than 1,300 customers were in the dark. The only other parish in the surrounding area with significant outages was Livingston where more than 100 outages were reported.
A scan of Twitter indicated that there were numerous outages on LSU’s campus.
Some Entergy customers also saw outages early Wednesday evening when similar thunderstorms moved through the area.
