Mary Landrieu, aide joining Washington lobbying firm
NEW ORLEANS - Former U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is joining a Washington lobbying firm.
The firm Van Ness Feldman said in a statement released Tuesday that Landrieu will be a senior policy adviser on public policy, strategic, and regulatory issues with an emphasis on energy, natural resources, and infrastructure.
In the Senate, she had been chairwoman of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Bob Szabo coordinates the firm's public policy practice. He says Landrieu - a Louisiana Democrat - has been a key leader in energy, disaster response management, coastal restoration, and balanced development of public lands and assets.
Coming with Landrieu is executive assistant Marianna Knister, a native New Orleanian who worked for Landrieu in the Senate.
