Man killed in parking lot drug deal
BATON ROUGE - Police said a Baton Rouge man shot in a grocery store parking lot Tuesday night died as a result of his injuries.
A Baton Rouge Police spokesperson said 19-year-old Derrell Marquis Hayes was shot during a drug deal in the parking lot next to Choctaw Drive and 38th Street at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators said a friend of Hayes drove him to an auto parts store on North Foster and called for help. Haynes later died at a local hospital.
Police said the man who shot Hayes drove off in a red 2013 Chevy Impala.
