Man fatally shot on Canal Street
NEW ORLEANS- New Orleans police say a 19-year-old man died in a shooting at the intersection of Canal and South Rampart streets.
Police said in a news release officers in the area heard gunfire and responded to the intersection at 5:40 p.m. Monday. Police says the man was found lying on the sidewalk, shot in the chest.
The unidentified man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
There was no immediate word on a motive or suspects.
