Man dies trying to help tuber
WATSON, La. - An Opelousas man died Saturday of what appeared to be a drowning.
Ketni Thomas, 32, was allegedly trying to swim upstream to assist a distressed, younger tuber, when he became exhausted and went under water.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the Upper Amite River in Watson just after 3:00 pm.
The LPSO is continuing the investigation.
