Man arrested on drug charges could be questioned in Cottages shooting
BATON ROUGE - A man arrested on drug charges in Texas is being extradited to Baton Rouge, where he could be questioned about a shooting at the Cottages apartment complex in April.
According to a BRPD spokesperson, Anthony Henderson was arrested for drug charges unrelated to the shooting. They say Henderson will be extradited back to Louisiana, and he will have the option of whether he will speak to police about the shooting.
19-year-old Lashuntae Benton of Indiana, and 19-year-old Annette January of St. Charles were shot and killed after a fight broke out at a party last year.
25-year-old Brandon Henderson was booked on two counts of second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon following a police investigation. Henderson admitted to firing the shots that would start the deadly crossfire between him and another shooter, Ernest Felton.
