Man accused of sex crime against child
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies arrested a man in Baton Rouge for an aggravated sex crime after learning about a sexual assault that took place in 2008.
Detectives learned about the crime while investigating another case. Authorities say in 2008, 37-year-old Carl Hilton blackmailed a pre-teen into allowing him to perform oral sex on her after finding her watching an inappropriate television show.
The victim also told police about a separate instance where Hilton learned she had been hanging out with a boy her mother didn't approve of. Hilton threatened to tell the victim's family if she didn't have sex with him. She told Hilton that she would tell her mother what he was doing, but he said the mother would not believe her.
According to the victim, Hilton forced her to have sex with him seven to eight more times after the first incident.
Deputies booked Hilton into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on Wednesday.
