Man accused of raping 9-year-old arrested
BATON ROUGE - Police said they arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of raping a 9-year-old girl Tuesday morning.
36-year-old Francisco “Pancho” Martinez was booked into the parish prison on one count of first degree rape after his arrest.
Detectives spoke with the victim who told them that she was asleep on the living room couch when Martinez pulled her off of the couch and forcibly raped her. A family member of the victim confirmed for investigators that the details the girl presented to law enforcement were true.
A sexual assault examination was later conducted at Oschner Medical Center where medical staff observed bleeding and other symptoms consistent with rape.
