LSU WR Travin Dural named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List
BATON ROUGE - Junior LSU wide receiver Travin Dural has been named to the 2015 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, according to an announcement from the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Wednesday.
The distinction is presented every year to college football's most outstanding set of hands. Dural racked up three 100-yard receiving games in LSU's 2014 campaign, including a career-best 151 yard breakout performance in the Tigers' season opener against the Wisconsin Badgers.
The junior, out of Breaux Bridge, has stepped up as a vital leader among the Bayou Bengals passing targets. LSUSports.net says he paced the squad with 37 receptions for 758 yards along with seven touchdowns last season.
In yet another landmark moment for Dural's career in the purple and gold, he pulled down the longest reception in team history as a he took a 94-yard scoring strike all the way into the end zone on the first play from scrimmage when the Tigers met Sam Houston State, according to LSU Athletics.
Ten semi-finalists will be selected on Nov. 16 with three finalists announced on Nov. 24. The winner of the 22nd annual Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards Shows in December.
LSUSports.net notes LSU alum Josh Reed brought the award back to Baton Rouge following his record-shattering All-American season back in 2001.
