LSU softball super regional times announced
BATON ROUGE - LSU will face Arizona in the Baton Rouge super regional next weekend, with the winner punching their ticket to the Women's College World Series.
Here's the schedule for the best 2-of-3 series:
Game 1: Saturday, 9 p.m. ESPN2
Game 2: Sunday, 4 p.m. ESPN
Game 3: Sunday, 7 p.m. ESPN2 (if necessary)
All of the games will be at Tiger Park.
The Tigers advanced to the super regionals after facing three straight elimination games against Nebraska and two against Arizona State.
Arizona survived a scare against Minnesota, after the Gophers hit a walk off grand slam to force a winner take all game 7. In the deciding game, the Gophers were down 2 runs with 1 out to go when they scored 4 runs, 3 of them on a home run. Arizona responded with a 2 run blast in the bottom of the inning to force extras and won it during their next at bat.
LSU is looking for it's 4th trip to the WCWS and the 1st since 2012. Arizona has been to the WCWS 22 times and has been national champion 8 times. Their last appearance was 2010.
The winner of the Baton Rouge super regional will face off against either Auburn or UL-Lafayette in the first round of the WCWS.
