LSU's Lange named National Freshman Pitcher of the Year
BATON ROUGE - LSU right-hander Alex Lange has been named the 2015 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Freshman Pitcher of the Year.
Lange went 11-0 this year, while posting a 1.89 ERA in his 16 starts. He struck out 121 batters and restricted opposing batters to a .214 batting average.
This award comes weeks after being named the SEC Freshman of the Year and Louisville Slugger Freshman Pitcher of the Year, in addition to all-SEC first team honors.
Lange helped the Tigers to a 53-10 record and a berth to the College World Series, which starts this weekend.
