BATON ROUGE - LSU has been named one of the nation's bicycle-friendly colleges by the League of American Bicyclists.
Across the country, 164 colleges and universities have the designation from the five-year-old program.
In recent years, LSU has closed off some of the interior parts of its Baton Rouge campus to regular traffic and installed bike racks on its buses and at most buildings around campus.
Louisiana's flagship university also is working with a local community organization to create a bike share program on campus. And it plans a campus-wide Bike Month early next year.
