LSU baseball falls at McNeese St. 5-4
LAKE CHARLES - The LSU Tigers rallied for 1 run in the 9th inning against McNeese State, but they needed at least 2 to extend the game, and hometown product Beau Jordan grounded out to end the game as LSU (9-4) fell 5-4 Wednesday night.
The loss was the 3rd in the past 4 games for the Tigers, who only allowed 7 hits, but gave up runs in 5 different innings.
Zach Hess gave up 3 runs in the 1st 3 innings, but LSU kept it close on the strength of RBI hits from Beau Jordan (1-3, RBI) and Josh Smith (4-4, RBI, 2 R).
The Cowboys (9-4) took a 5-3 lead into the 9th, but the Tigers got an RBI from Chris Reid, who got a hit in his only at-bat of the game.
