LSP: Prairieville woman dies in crash on Airline Highway
EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH - An early morning crash took the life of a Prairieville woman on New Year's Day.
According to Louisiana State Police, the accident happened around 6 a.m. at the north intersection of Airline Highway and LA 73.
State Police say 36-year-old Latasha E. Harris of Prairieville was traveling southbound on Airline Highway in a 2018 Mercedes C300. Harris was approaching the LA 73 overpass when the Mercedes ran off the roadway and struck a guardrail.
Harris was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital where she died from her injuries.
No other vehicles were involved.
Troopers say she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Impairment is still unknown, but toxicology samples were taken for analysis.
