LSP investigating after suspect killed in officer-involved shooting
HAMMOND - State police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting.
Around 12:44 a.m. an LSP trooper was conducting a traffic stop on North Oak Street at US 190 in Hammond. During the stop, a struggle ensued resulting in the trooper firing his weapon.
Authorities say 23-year-old Coltin Brennan LeBlanc was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. The trooper wasn't injured.
The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Region I was contacted to investigating the shooting.
