LSP: Driver ejected in fatal Terrebonne Parish crash
HOUMA - A single vehicle crash claimed the life of a Houma man early Saturday morning in Terrebonne Parish.
According to Louisiana State Police, Troop C was notified of a fatal single vehicle on LA 660 near Goodman Court shortly after 2 a.m.
The crash took the life of 50-year-old Steven Belanger of Houma.
Through the initial investigation, State Police discovered Belanger was traveling north on LA 660 in a 2015 Dodge pickup.
Belanger entered a left curve and ran off the road on the right side, according to State Police.
His vehicle then struck a driveway and rolled over several times. Belanger was ejected from his vehicle as a result of the crash.
He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Belanger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office.
It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash, and a standard toxicology report is pending.
