EAST FELICIANA PARISH - A 47-year-old Baton Rouge woman is dead after she was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Christmas Day.
According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m., December 25 on LA Hwy 964 north of LA Hwy 955 in East Feliciana Parish.
The crash ultimately claimed the life of 47-year-old Darla V. Silvio of Baton Rouge.
Through the initial investigation, State Police determined that the crash occurred as Silvio was driving a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound on LA Hwy 964. For unknown reasons, Silvio's Dodge ran off the roadway to the left side and subsequently struck a tree.

"Impairment on the part of Silvio is unknown at this time, but may have been a factor," State Police stated in a news release. A standard toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
