BATON ROUGE – Traffic officials said all lanes are now open on I-10 W at the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge after a wreck involving multiple 18-wheelers closed the bridge Sunday afternoon.

According to the DOTD officials, the wreck happened at mile marker 122 on the Basin Bridge. Traffic was diverted to LA 415.

Louisiana State police told KATC  that the crash occured at 5:30 p.m. and five 18-wheelers were involved in the wreck.

DOTD said the congestion from the incident reached five miles. 

State Police told drivers to use caution and detour to US 190 West.
