Lafayette offering free bus rides beginning Black Friday
LAFAYETTE - The City of Lafayette is offering free bus rides for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Lafayette Transit System says its "No Pay Bus Day," on Nov. 25 and 26, is in recognition of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux says the promotion applies to all three transit services - daytime, night owl and para-transit.
With anticipated higher traffic volume on those holiday shopping days, LTS says it hopes the promotion will help alleviate road congestion. Robideaux says it's also a good way to attract new riders.
