LA 1 reopened after train derails near Addis
IBERVILLE PARISH - Authorities say a train went off the tracks near the West Baton Rouge and Iberville Parish line early Thursday morning.
The derailment was reported around 6 a.m. on LA 1 south of Addis near Sid Richardson Road. No injuries have been reported. The roadway was closed in both directions until shortly after 8 a.m.
All lanes have since reopened on the roadway. Drivers should expect heavy delays.
The cause of the derailment has not been released.
