Jindal staffer leaves state politics for healthcare
BATON ROUGE - As the governor's term winds down and his campaign for president moves him from state-to-state, his staff at the Capitol are planning their next moves.
Tuesday, it was announced Kristy Nichols, the commissioner of administration was leaving state politics. Nichols' department oversees state functions such as managing state finances and managing the state budget. Nichols will be replaced by Stafford Palmieri, currently the deputy chief of staff for Governor Bobby Jindal.
Nichols will become the Vice President for Corporate Affairs at Ochsner Health System.
"I am proud of the work that we have accomplished to make Louisiana a better place to live and raise a family, and I am confident that we will continue down this path," she said in a statement.
"I am proud of the work she has accomplished during her time with us and I wish her all the best in this next venture," the governor said.
