BATON ROUGE- In honor of fallen Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent, Gov. Bobby Jindal has ordered flags on all state and parish buildings to be lowered to half-staff and continue to be flown in that manner until sunset Friday.
Vincent was shot in the line of duty Sunday while assisting a motorist near Lake Charles. He died Monday. Jindal's executive order describes Vincent as "an honorable man who proudly served on the Louisiana State Police for 13 years."
He said both men and women in law enforcement risk their lives every day to protect Louisiana's communities and "we are all extremely grateful for their dedicated service."
