Interstate backups cause noon rush traffic headaches
BATON ROUGE - A series of traffic snarls are present throughout the city around the noon hour on the Friday ahead of St. Patrick's Day festivities in Baton Rouge.
All lanes are open on I-12 West at Airline Highway due to an earlier accident with congestion of one mile before Millerville Road, according to LA DOTD.
Another interstate crash, now cleared, has traffic backed up to Port Allen on I-10 East coming into Baton Rouge. Congestion is now clearing as the wreck has been moved.
As for I-10 West trouble, all lanes are open following yet another wreck at LA 30 in Ascension Parish. The congestion related to this accident is currently around two miles. Traffic officials recommend using US 61 (Airline Highway) as an alternate route.
