I-12 lane closures for construction continue this week
LIVINGSTON - Lane closures on I-12 in both eastbound and westbound directions will be in effect throughout the week as the Geaux Wider series of projects on the interstate continues.
Traffic officials say alternating lane closures can be expected starting Monday and continuing through Friday with at least one lane open in each direction at all times. Crews will be working this week on bridge approach slab tie-ins. The lane closure schedule is as follows:
-I-12 eastbound and westbound travel lanes will be closed from Satsuma Road to 1.5 miles east of Satsuma Road (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
-I-12 eastbound and westbound travel lanes will be closed from one mile west of LA 441 to LA 441 (8 pm. to 6 a.m.)
-1-12 eastbound and westbound travel lanes will be closed from one mile west of LA 43 to LA 43 (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
According to LA DOTD, motorists can take US 190 as an alternate route to avoid the nightly lane closures during construction periods. Traffic officials also advise motorists to use caution around work crews and their equipment when passing through work areas.
