NEW ORLEANS - Trying to fire up her Democratic base, Sen. Mary Landrieu is getting some big name help from Hillary Rodham Clinton with only days remaining before Election Day.

The former secretary of state and likely 2016 presidential candidate was the draw Saturday at a rally for Landrieu in New Orleans.

Her chief Republican challenger, Rep. Bill Cassidy, brought in a heavy hitter of his own. Ben Carson, a conservative GOP neurosurgeon who says he may run for president, attended a tea party rally in the suburbs north of New Orleans with Cassidy.

The election is Tuesday. If no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the vote, the Senate race will be decided in a Dec. 6 runoff. Landrieu is targeted by Republicans nationally trying to retake control of the Senate.
