BATON ROUGE- This year is already halfway over, and some people have started slacking on their new year's resolutions. Terri Johnson and Jheri Corb from Baton Rouge General stopped by 2une In this morning to talk to News 2's John Pastorek about sticking with healthy habits for the whole year.

It's never to late to pick your resolution back up. Johnson says you should focus on completing your task in small increments. Take it one week at a time instead of just thinking about the full six months left in the year.

Johnson is drinking more water for her resolution. It's especially important to make sure you're drinking water during the summer months when it gets hotter outside. Parents should make sure their children are drinking enough water as well. Dehydration can negatively affect a child's mood.

One of the most popular resolutions is increased physical exercise. Jheri Corb is a fitness specialist at Baton Rouge General. She says a lot of people are discouraged when they don't have a plan. Developing a good plan can help you stay committed to your resolution.

"It's like the difference between a compass and a map," said Corb. "They both have their endpoints, but the map gives you so many more details about getting around the obstacles."

You can find more information and programs to help you stick with your resolution at Baton Rouge General's website.
