Gunman in deadly rampage was high on cocaine
AZUSA, Calif. - Authorities say a gunman was on a cocaine binge when he randomly opened fire Tuesday in a peaceful neighborhood in the San Gabriel Valley in California, killing a 77-year-old neighbor and wounding two passersby before police shot him.
Police say the 45-year-old shooter had a military background and was a gun fanatic.
They say the 77-year-old neighbor had gone outside to see what was happening when he was shot dead.
The Tuesday afternoon attack in Azusa shut down two nearby polling places.
