Gas, other fuel rocketed off huge fire in Ascension overnight
ST. AMANT - After sifting through the rubble firefighters in Ascension Parish said a large shed fire was fueled by combustibles - gas and welding fuel.
Investigators are expected to continue look through what's left of the structure on Kid Bourgeois Road Thursday.
Firefighters raced to the scene of the blaze just after 7 o'clock Wednesday.
Originally, calls to dispatchers reported the shed may have been an illicit drug kitchen, prompting concerns from firefighters who first arrived. As the night wore on, and crews got a better handle on the situation, the department determined there was no drug activity involved.
No injuries have been reported.
