First-time moms celebrate Mother's Day
BATON ROUGE - Woman's Hospital says they expected to deliver nearly 20 babies on Mother's Day, Sunday.
For first time mother, Brittany Jackson, the day couldn't be more special.
"I went through a lot for her to get here," said Jackson.
Carly Rochelle McIntyre was the first baby born at the hospital on Mother's Day. She made her debut at 12:13 a.m. and weighed in at 6 pounds and 6 ounces.
Jackson told News Two it's really important to her that she and Carly have a close relationship, like she did with her own mother who passed away eight years ago.
"That's exactly how I want to be. We can be best friends and she can tell me everything," said Jackson.
She said Carly is already more popular than her, getting more than 300 likes on her newborn photo on Facebook.
