First neighborhood annexed away from City of St. George
BATON ROUGE- Three-dozen homes in a small neighborhood were the first collection of houses accepted into the city limits in an effort to remove itself from possibly being in the city limits of the City of St. George Tuesday night.
The Metro Council approved annexing the Legacy Court subdivision after a majority of the home owners signed a petition to be annexed. The process began in June and ended with the evening's approval.
Not all homeowners agreed with the move, however. The request put neighbor against neighbor but moved forward since half of the people who live in the area supported annexation.
